The UL Lafayette Geology High School Summer Scholars program is a 6-day “boot camp” targeting top students throughout the 9-parish Acadiana region in southern Louisiana. High school sophomores, juniors, and seniors with a 3.00 cumulative GPA or higher may apply for the 2018 Summer Scholars program. The purpose of the program is to expose top high school students to geology and geology careers, emphasizing the petroleum industry along the Gulf Coast.

Program Details:
Who: Acadiana region high school seniors with an interest in geology

What: Week-long introduction to geology and the petroleum industry with hands-on learning

When: June 11-16, 2018

Where: Hamilton Hall, UL Lafayette campus

Why: Come learn about the exciting petroleum field and what you can offer to our local economy!

Cost: $0.  The program is funded by a Halliburton grant.​
